About The Cape Town V and A WaterfrontThe Victoria and Alfred Waterfront is a famous shopping district near the working harbor in Cape Town. The V and A Waterfront started being developed by Prince Alfred , the second son of Queen Victoria in 1860. Two of the basins created are named after Queen Victoria and Prince Alfred giving the shopping district its name. The waterfront is open daily from 9 am - 9 pm and features over 80 restaurants, 450 retail outlets and plays host to a number of events as well as offering a variety of activities.
